For our ethics presentations. I have decided to do my student led presentation on ‘Reporting conflict and terror’ as I find this both interesting and topical. I found more books than I thought there would be on the media’s role in reporting wars and terrorism, and took out two books to have a read through. The first being ‘Media, Terrorism and Theory’ by Anandam P.Kavoori and Todd Fraley. The second being ‘Terrorism and the Politics of Fear’ by David L. Altheide. Both look at the media’s role in propagandising, mediatising and exploiting war and terror. I’ll crack into them soon.
